- He has shown keen interest in DBT Biotech KISAN Hub project being implemented by Department of Horticulture, Aromatic and Medicinal plants, Mizoram University, Aizawl and Govt. of Mizoram, KVK Khawzawl.
- He followed the scientific management of tomato, starting from field preparation to harvesting as per the recommendation of KVK experts. He always stayed in contact with KVK experts etc. for taking the taste of updated technology.
- During the period of cultivation, KVK personnel also made numerous field visits, and his field has been used as field demonstration unit for these crops and facilitated in organizing exposure visits and trainings of farmers in Khawzawl District.
- The use of the scientific technology proved to be useful as he was able to get a good production and net return from the crops cultivated in comparison to the earlier times.
- He motivated his neighboring farmers to adopt the scientific technology of tomato cultivation.
- The DBT Biotech KISAN Hub project activities have helped in enhancing his income and he has earned Rs 1,85,000/- as net profit from cultivation of Tomato in 1.0 acre.

- J. Lalthangzela is an enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated farmer and his primary occupation is agriculture.
- Earlier he cultivated French bean and tomato, but could not get high yield due to lack of knowledge and high-yielding varieties, even though the climate and other natural resources were favourable.
- He overcome this situation with the help of a scientist from KVK Khawzawl advised him to follow scientific cultivation of tomato and cultivated French bean and tomato covering around 01 acre during kharif season as per advised by the KVK experts.
- His field has been used as field demonstration unit for these crops and facilitated in organizing exposure visits and training of farmers in Champhai District. He also produces seeds of French bean crops in his field, which he sells to other farmers in and around the villages.
- After seeing his success and hardworking, Village council members of Chawngtlai had allowed him to borrow more land for cultivating vegetables for the next year.
- Mr. J. Thangzela is now a role model for other farmers in adopting the technology and farmers from adjoining locality often pay visit to him.

Significant Achievements
- Lalfamkimi is a very enthusiastic farmer, she works hard and has been a very adaptive farmer. She is motivated by the scientific practices of vegetable cultivation imparted by the technical personals of KVKs and other Agriculture/ Horticulture related departments and agencies. She adapted very well to their teachings.
- Scientists from KVK, N. Vanlaiphai, Serchhip District visited her farm and suggested her different improved knowledge of cultivation for her existing crops. Since then, KVK scientists continue to visit her and imparted different improved knowledge of cultivation. They introduced DBT Biotech KISAN Hub project being implemented by Department of Horticulture, Aromatic and Medicinal plants, Mizoram University, Aizawl and Govt. of Mizoram, KVK N. Vanlaiphai, Serchhip District to her and she received low-cost greenhouse in 2022 under this project as one of the farmers.
- In this polyhouse, following the instructions of technical personals, she grew off season tomato in the first year.
- Lalfamkimi earned a net return of Rs 95,000 by cultivated tomato in polyhouse of 100m2 area with the help of DBT Biotech KISAN Hub project.
